When call it "still not black enough", do you mean the inking? Like the black areas aren't as black as you'd like?

The feathers look great! Personally I find feathers to be the hardest thing about drawing/painting a crow, especially the smallest ones. But yours look fantastic. :D I love this picture, lovely pose. :)

Ah, it's amazing! One can often see pictures of birds whose feathers look more like a fur, or on the contrary look too straight and periodic. You managed to describe the feathery feel perfectly, as well as the bird's pose. Very realistic, yet using the artists shortcuts, as my father calls them - like the multiple scratches on the branch or fading legs of the bird.
I am impressed by all your work, but with this one you hit my weak spot for raven-type birds.

Thanx again for your comment! Ravens are my weak spot too, when I find a window I always make an image of a raven, love them as very intelligent birds and the heavy symbolism they carry on their wings!

Ah, yes! How could I forget to mention the symbolism. They simply are one of the most amazing birds.

Nice use of the multiple line engraving tool (I'm assuming) to create the texture of the limb.
